COVID-19 Reporting Requirements:

Cedarbrook is required to notify all team members and residents of any positive COVID-19 cases that occur within our communities. As a result, if either a team member or resident tests positive for COVID-19 in one of our communities, we will issue a special COVID-19 notification for the impacted community. This will be in addition to our regular Thursday CSL Alerts.

Indoor and Outdoor Visitation:

We continue to comply with the requirements that the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services published on October 28, 2020, which govern our ability to offer both indoor and outdoor visitation. We will notify you of any changes to these current visitation requirements and restrictions when they are announced by Governor Whitmer and/or MDHHS.

Indoor Visitation:

Oakland and Wayne County COVID-19 risk levels remain at Level D, allowing for some limited indoor visitation to occur at all three Cedarbrook communities – with many conditions and restrictions in place as mandated by the State of Michigan. These restrictions include:

- Indoor visitation will only be allowed if the County Risk Level is between A and D as defined by the Michigan Safe Start Program.

- The community you plan to visit must not have had a new resident or team member positive test result for the 14 days before the date indoor visitation is scheduled to occur.

- The Order specifically states that no more than two visitors per time slot will be allowed and you must maintain 6’ of social distancing at all times.

- All visitors must provide written evidence of a recent negative COVID-19 test. This test must have been administered within 72 hours of the scheduled visit. For example, if you plan to visit on Thursday, you will need to have been tested on Tuesday or Wednesday and present confirmation of your negative test result to our concierge at check-in.  NOTE: This is a requirement of the MDHHS order – being vaccinated does not nullify the order.

Below is a link to help you find your nearest COVID-19 testing location (for those of you reading this Alert in PDF format, you may need to copy and paste the link in your browser):

https://www.solvhealth.com/search?cobrandedSrpLocation=MI

- Visitors must wear PPE. For Cedarbrook, this means, at a minimum, you must wear an ASTM Level 2 or 3 surgical mask while in our building. These are the same masks that we require our residents and staff to wear while in the building. Cloth masks or masks with valves will not be permitted. To locate a supplier of the required masks for Cedarbrook visitation, enter keywords ASTM Level 2 mask or ASTM Level 3 mask in your browser search engine.  They are available thru Amazon.

Similar to our outdoor visitation program, the following additional requirements must also be followed:

- Visits MUST be scheduled via Sign-Up Genius and visits will be limited to 45 minutes.

- Our indoor visitation schedule will be limited to the same days as our current outdoor visitation schedule – and similar times - and is subject to change.

- Indoor visitation will take place only in certain designated common areas within the community. Visitors will not be allowed to visit in resident apartments and will not be allowed to leave the designated visitation areas.

- Upon arriving at the community, visitors must check in with the concierge 15 minutes prior to your scheduled visitation time. Your temperature will be taken and must be below 100 degrees to visit. You must also pass all screening questions.

- Wash/sanitize hands before and after each visit.

- No pets are allowed.

- At the conclusion of your visit, we will be cleaning the area and ask that you promptly sign out at the concierge desk.

Suspension of Indoor Visitation:

Under the MDHHS Order, each community must suspend visitation for 14 days after the last positive test for either a team member or resident in that community.

Outdoor Visitation:

A recent negative COVID-19 test is NOT required for outdoor visitation.

COVID-19 Vaccine Information and Potential Side Effects:

You can find a description and potential side effects of the Moderna vaccine at these links:

https://www.fda.gov/media/144638/download

https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/vaccines/different-vaccines/Moderna.html

https://www.modernatx.com/covid19vaccine-eua/recipients/

Important: From what we have heard, side effects are more likely after the 2nd vaccination. This is due to the body creating a strong immune response to COVID-19. These side effects are actually a very good indication that the vaccine is working and your body is preparing itself to battle COVID-19 should you be exposed. If you have these symptoms, they should pass in approximately 24 to 48 hours.

Isolation Guidelines:

We continue to use a 14-day quarantine period for both residents and team members when appropriate.

Indoor and Outdoor Visitation:

As we continue to share in our CSL Alerts, on October 28, 2020, the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services issued Emergency Orders which govern our ability to offer both indoor and outdoor visitation. Rather than re-publish these lengthy guidelines, going forward, we will simply give you the dates we expect visitation to begin.

Indoor Visitation:

Per MDHHS requirements, with the Oakland and Wayne County COVID-19 risk levels currently at Level E, no indoor visitation is allowed in any of our communities.

Outdoor Visitation:

Weather forecasters are predicting a combination of low temperatures, high wind and snow beginning tomorrow and going throughout next week. For safety reasons, we have cancelled outdoor visitation for all communities until February 17th. Beyond that, we will cancel outdoor visitation when the temperature is forecast to be 20 degrees or below.

Here are the dates that we expect outdoor visitation to be available, assuming good weather and no more COVID-19 positive test results before these dates:

Rochester – IL, AL and MC:  February 17, 2021

Northville – IL, AL and MC:   February 17, 2021

Bloomfield Hills – IL, AL, MC and NH:   February 17, 2021
